He looks like a modern day Prince Charming but Charmed's Drew Fuller is not as sweet as he seems! The New Guy Getting to hang out with Charmed co-stars Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Rose McGowan might be most guys' dream come true, but trying to get into the girls' friendship circle was not an easy job! "It's like being a kid in a new high school or going out and getting a new job," he laughs about his first day on set as Chris Perry, the Charmed Ones' new whitelighter. "It's very intimidating especially given the show's high profile. A lot of people like the show and you're coming in with three powerful women --I was definitely flustered!" Luckily, that 'new guy' tag didn't stick for long. "I've been on the show for a year so I feel right at home and I really feel (the girls and I have) all made a connection." Explaining Chris What else do we need to know about Chris? "He has an agenda," reveals Drew. "He came back from the future because he needs to take care of some issues that need to be solved in the past. But he can't reveal his agenda because that could backfire on him. It isolates him, which is really tough to do because [he's] supposed to gain trust with the witches and Leo [Brian Krause]. There are times when you'll think he has the perfect opportunity to make peace and tell everyone who he is and what he's doing there, but then he does something so shady and crazy, You're like, 'Why did he do that? I don't get it!' But that's fantastic --it means I'm doing my job!" Chatting to Drew, we find out the is incredibly tight-lipped about why his character is back from the future, all he'll say is it's a huge surprise. "It's really cool. I go through a lot of love and I go through a lot of hate. [This season] reveals slowly what I'm doing and why I'm here." Orbing Tricks Ever wondered how Chris and Leo orb in and out in locations? Drew, who before starting on the show had never watched an episode of Charmed, let us in on the tricky camera technique that creates the special effect. "They take a light called a Tweenie," he explains. "And the camera will lock off and not move and no-one will be on screen. And they'll put the orb light up, I step in right underneath the light and the visual effects department drops me down from there after filming." The Power Of Three When pressed for details on Alyssa, Holly and Rose are really like, Chris is hesitant to dish the dirt. "I hate having to label each one of them individually," he says. "I mean, these are my girls. They all bring a little bit of their personalities to their characters. They are all very unique and I can assure you that although we might share a quality here and there, we're four completely individual people." Chris, however, does let slip that the girls don't mind telling him to get a life! "I eat, breathe and sleep Charmed," he laughs. "It's really kind of pathetic. They're like, 'Get a life, c'mon!' And I'm like, 'No, no, this is fantastic --I love working!' They tease me all the time!" A Charmed Life Since joining the cast of Charmed, Chris has one special moment that stands out in his mind. "The Make a Wish Foundation came out to the set with this brother and sister whose wish was to meet us and find out if I was good or bad. They were so special and lovely. It just broke my heart and I started crying because what we do really affects people and can make a difference. Talk about a life-changing experience!" Is He Single? Sorry girls, 23-year-old Drew is off the market! "Yes," he sighs. "She was the first one who ever really challenged me and she really makes me a better person." Chris will be in the good books when his girlfriend reads this interview! "Yeah, that's the only reason I said it," he jokes. "Honey, look what I said about you!" My lips are sealed In interviews, Alyssa, Rose and Holly always say they're like sisters... Are they close friends off-screen? C'mon, tell us something! |
